Densification of Cameroon’s industrial fabric, Professor Fuh Calistus Gentry on a working visit to the city of Douala
The Minister of Mines, Industry, and Technological Development (ai), Prof. FUH CALISTUS GENTRY, is on a working visit to the Littoral region. From 21 to 25 October, He will be inspecting several industrial companies based in the city of Douala and the town of Tiko in the southwest. Several points are on the agenda for this initiative, which aims to bring the administration and industrial companies closer together. These include
– Monitoring the densification of the industrial fabric with the signing of first-class establishments, followed by visits to the facilities;
– Highlighting the Government’s efforts to reduce the price of cement bags in Cameroon through consultations with CIMENCAM on the stalemate over the export of clinker to Chad and the setting of clinker prices;
– Strengthening administrative oversight on the content quality of whisky in sachets, particularly, the compliance with standard NC210/2014-18 by operators in this sub-sector, and reminding the public of the August 2026 deadline for the total migration of whisky in sachets into PET bottles;
– clearing up the ambiguity surrounding the supply of gas to Cameroon’s industrial actors by Gaz du Cameroun; – Also a visit to industries in the Southwest Region with the support of the Littoral Region, to reassure public opinion of MINMIDT’s commitment to restoring industry to the benefit of the Cameroon Development Corporation;
– Emphasise the actions undertaken by the Government of the State of Cameroon to pursue the implementation of the import-substitution policy in the industrial sector, with visits to a ceramic tile manufacturing plant, an agro-food processing plant, a tyre manufacturing plant, and a gas cylinder manufacturing plant, to significantly improve the living conditions of Cameroonians;
– Finally, the development in Cameroon of the complete bauxite-alumina-aluminum chain by a single group, is to serve as an example for the future of Cameroon in the development of value chains.
