MINMIDT working visit to FERMENCAM
Following the fire that occurred on January 1, 2018, the Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological Development conducted a working visit to FERMENCAM on January 5, 2018, to convey the Government’s comfort to this operator in the spirits sector. .
It is important to point out that this company is engaged in an investment program, following a monitoring mechanism put in place by the Government to accompany it in its migration from the packaging of whiskey in sachets, to the conditioning of whiskey in bottles, with a view to aligning it with the vision of the Industrialization Master Plan (PDI), which provides for sanitation and the emergence of a genuine local industry for the production of spirits, able to conquer foreign markets .
FERMENCAM’s socio-economic weight adequately justifies the Government’s approach through the MINMIDT because it employs more than 800 Cameroonians and contributes more than five billion CFA francs per year on average to government revenue (customs, VAT, taxes). and CNPS).
Although this incident is a blow to FERMENCAM’s investment program, the Government will continue its efforts until the expected results are achieved.
