The 9th National Technology Days come to a close
The Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological Development (ai), Prof. FUH CALISTUS GENTRY, presided over the awards ceremony for the winners of this edition. Fifty young Cameroonian researchers and inventors from the ten regions of the country presented their latest discoveries to the juries and other participants, under the theme LOCAL TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS, A LEVER FOR IMPORT-SUBSTITUTION.
A total of 14 young winners stood out for their ingenuity and talent. They were assessed out of 100 points by a panel of judges set up for the occasion.
– Young BITANG SIFA from the Far North region won the first prize worth three million CFA francs for his SIBTECH project, a compressed air-powered generator.
– The second prize went to young AYISSI from the Littoral region who presented a project on automotive and industrial biolubricant based on palm kernel oil
– With her Automatic Eru leaves slicong, dryer, and packaging machine project, the young TEBOH NDINKA BRIGHT from the South West region won third place.
– Meanwhile, NJINI Daniel won the Technological Hope Prize for his innovation ‘Sporting for electrical energy’, designed to produce electrical energy while playing sport.
10 special awards rewarded innovations in health, the environment, agriculture, etc.
In his closing address, Professor FUH CALISTUS GENTRY MINMIDT (ai) pointed out that these young people will be accompanied particularly in protecting their inventions.
The closing ceremony took place at the Yaoundé Hilton Hotel in the presence of the Director General of the AIPO and several other prestigious guests.
The National Technology Days will henceforth be celebrated on 20 November each year in conjunction with Africa Industrialisation Day.
